About the Speaker
Bianca Torres Reiser began her journey to become an attorney when she started the California Law Office Study Program in 2017. She apprenticed under a practicing attorney at a boutique law firm, specializing in complex business litigation. In her role as a paralegal and office manager, she gained hands-on experience managing large cases while studying for the Baby Bar and eventually the California Bar Exam. The apprenticeship allowed her to learn the law without the financial burden of law school and taught her the value of disciplined, self-directed study- skills that continue to shape her legal work today. Now as a legal aid attorney, Bianca focuses on civil re-entry services for justice-impacted individuals. She advocates for the very communities in which she grew up. Her family is part of the diaspora from Michoacan, Mexico, that settled in Northern California. Growing up, her family experienced many of the legal issues that she helps her clients face today in the areas of housing, public benefits, and employment discrimination. Bianca is passionate about ensuring that everyone, regardless of income or background, has the dignity of quality legal assistance. She believes that a path in the legal field has the power to lift our communities out of poverty and bring our voices to the table - from survival toward autonomy!
